    AnotherWrapper

Looking for a ShipFree alternative that is a full Next.js kit, not another free empty starter?

ShipFree is a free ShipFast clone. AnotherWrapper is a kit you can actually launch

One is $0 and empty on purpose. The other is a paid Next.js kit with a finished foundation. Do not buy this to save money on a clone. Buy it if you want a kit you can launch.

    Direct answer

Pick ShipFree if you want a free ShipFast-style Next.js starter and you will assemble the product yourself. Pick AnotherWrapper if you want a complete Next.js starter for any product: Better Auth, Drizzle, payments, the agent harness, eight finished apps you can fork if you need them, and a $249 one-time licence. Free is the right price for an empty clone. It is the wrong price for a finished kit.

Zero dollars is the right price for an empty clone

ShipFree exists because people did not want to pay $199 for a SaaS shell. That is a fair revolt. A free clone of an empty kit is still empty. The AI week — streaming, credits, providers, embeddings, the agent rewriting auth — did not get cloned for you.

If $0 and a public repo is the requirement, ShipFree wins and you should not be talked out of it. If you were hoping free also meant done, that is the mix-up.

$249 is not a protest against GitHub

You do not pay $249 because open source is immoral. You pay it because eight finished apps, Better Auth, Drizzle, pgvector, the agent pack, and a launch plan are a product. A community clone will not grow those while you sleep.

Keep GitHub if a shell is what you wanted. Pay only if the shell is the thing you were hoping to skip.

Side by side, without the marketing

Green is a real win. A tie is a tie. If they should win a row, they do.

Who each one is actually for

    Choose AnotherWrapper if

    • You want to fork a running AI app, not a free empty shell
    • You need providers, RAG, credits and the harness already decided
    • You want someone responsible when the kit breaks
    • You want the two-week launch plan, not just a README

    Choose ShipFree if

    • You want $0 and you will build everything including the AI layer
    • You specifically want a public ShipFast-style repo you can audit first
    • A community clone is enough and paid support is not worth it to you

A free ShipFast is still ShipFast without the apps.

The clone copies the shape: Next.js, auth, Stripe-ish payments. It does not copy an image studio, a RAG agent, or AGENTS.md that stops Cursor undoing the payments file. Price went to zero. The product layer did not.

Pay for inventory, or stay on GitHub.

There is no moral argument here. There is a calendar argument. The month you spend turning ShipFree into a wrapper is the month eight running apps were supposed to save. If you have the month and you like reading diffs, stay free.

Stay free if you wanted a clone. Pay if you wanted the apps.

ShipFree should remain $0. If you are here because you need a paid AI app this month, $249 is Better Auth, Drizzle, eight products, and the agent pack — not a tax on using GitHub.

    • The foundation is a full Next.js SaaS kit — auth, database, payments, analytics, email. Use it for any product. The eight apps are extra.
    • Better Auth — OAuth, magic links, requireUser() on every server boundary. Drizzle + Postgres. Any Postgres host. Not locked to one vendor.
    • Stripe, Polar and LemonSqueezy. Credits and a paywall gate.
    • PostHog, Plausible or DataFast — one env switch. Loops, Resend or Brevo — one env switch. Sentry.
    • AGENTS.md + CLAUDE.md, architecture docs, .env locked in settings, sixty slash commands, Fork-It prompts, security and payment review skills
    • 8 finished apps: chat, image, video, voice, transcription, vision, marketing plan, launch simulator
    • Seven provider SDKs + ElevenLabs, streaming, tool calling, one model registry

P.S. If you scrolled straight here, and I do that too, here is the whole thing. A private GitHub repo with 8 finished AI apps in it, the auth, payments, model and RAG layers underneath them, the Agent Command Pack that stops your agent wrecking any of it, and the three bonuses above. $14,000 of finished work, for $249 once.

Nothing to cancel and nothing to renew. Read it, and if it is not what I just described, you have 30 days to say so and get every dollar back.

And the reason to do it tonight rather than next month is the one I opened with: you are already paying $100–$200 a month to an agent that keeps rebuilding this foundation for you. Wait a month and you buy it again.

Then take the free scan and go and check the app you already have.

One prompt you paste into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. It reads your repo and checks it against the seven failures above, then tells you which ones you have, with file names and line numbers. Most people find at least two.
